Psychosocial Effects of COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic will have pervasive psychosocial implications stemming from restrictions on social interactions, shelter-in-place orders, fear of infection and disease, and hardships due to the economic conditions. Not only will these impacts be immediate but will also have lasting implications for decades to come.  No one will be left unaffected by the current pandemic. Research conducted in Psychology and Human Develop aim to uncover and potentially mitigate the psychosocial aspects of this crisis.

Research on the psychosocial effects of COVID-19 has been ongoing across the UC Davis campus since March, when the pandemic began to affect the every day lives of most people.  UC Davis is well positioned to make an impact in this field because of its collaborative environment and extensive expertise in psychosocial research across may different departments including Psychology, Human Ecology, Psychiatry and others.

Below are a collection of research projects currently being conducted on campus.  If you are interested in receiving more information about, or getting involved in, one of these projects, please contact the researchers listed.
